Default Blue Monday....

Feeling nostalgic and was reading about that game today. I remember
the innocense of an 11 year old running home from school to catch the
last few innings.....

At the time I figured this team would have many more opportunities.

And it did. Then the owners and players decided to play chicken with
each other in 1994 and ran themselves off the road -- killing a
potential World Series championship that would've prevented
fanbase-killing fire sales.

I was referring more to the great teams of the early 80's. The 1994
situation is another dark time for the team.

After I wrote the message I realized this October 19th will be the 25th
anniversary of that game....wow time flies and alot of things change.

If I recall correctly, the Expos had the best won-loss record of all
teams in the 1980's... what a waste.

That should have been the first of many World Series' appearances for
our Spos.

Don't forget 1980.....tied with the Phillies entering the last weekend
of the season (a 3 gamer in Montreal versus the Phillies). Lost the
first 2 games....Phillies go on to win the World Series.
