For years now, I thought it was Krush who opined that Big Ben was a "defensive MONSTER", but no, that was Scott in 2002. It was Krush (in the same thread, btw) who thought Hudson was an upgrade from Billups, in fact stating "it's obvious he will never be even a very good point guard". Arguable at the time perhaps. Laughable now ( <chuckle> ). Ben Wallace would be a HUGE upgrade at center for the Wolves, despite the perceived lack of offense. Quote:

As with many of the fans and teams Billups had left dumbfounded, I felt Billups just didn't get it. I could not have predicted Larry Brown would get his hands on Billups and turn him into a top 5 point guard. Without Brown, I don't think Billups would have been a good point guard. Hudson was an upgrade for the Wolves that season. 14.7/5.7 vs Billups 12.5 and 5.5. Unfortuantely, Hudson's game digressed due to injuries and a bad attitude. Quote:
Wallace would be a big upgrade for the Wolves, but I don't think he's going to give Chicago a ton more than Chandler gave them. That's why I said the Wolves signing of James *might* end up being better than the Chicago Wallace signing. Quote:
The Wolves don't need a huge turnaround from EG. All he needs is minutes. The guy averaged 5.6 rebounds in under 20 minutes/game (better or similar to the rebounding help Duncan or Howard got) . That's 11 rebounds adjusted for 39 minutes/game. Not bad for the secondary rebounder. The Wolves need to start EG. If he gets 35 minutes/game, he *will* average 8.5-9 rebounds and 2.5-3 blocks/game. I have no idea what he will give the team on offense, but it will be worth taking a load off KG on the defensive end. The group will probably call it Krush optimism, but if the Wolves don't make any other moves and *start* EG/KG/Hassel/Foye/James, with Davis (he is a very good scoring 6th man), Jaric (2 or 3, not 1), Blount, Reed (great role player, can play 3 and 4 at times) and Wright off the bench, the team will make the playoffs. |

Did I really say defensive "monster"? ![]() Oh well, compared to any big man the Wolves have *ever* had, I still think that statement is fairly accurate. Quote:
LOL Yeah, that Billups...what a bum he has turned out to be. ![]() For the record, I was really upset when the Wolves let him slip away. I think Krush was the only one happy to see him go. Quote:
