_improve_garnett_wants_out/ If The Wolves Don't Improve, Garnett Wants Out 9th August, 2006 - 7:38 pm Slam Magazine - In a recent Q&A session with Slam Magazine, Kevin Garnett stated he'd like to see management make more player acquisitions and hinted at the possibility of leaving Minnesota if the team doesn't improve. Regarding the moves management made so far, Garnett said, "I feel like getting Mike James was a start, but that's not enough. We need some more solid players to contribute..." When asked if he'd want to leave Minnesota if the team didn't improve, Garnett said, "I got to...If you're not working towards a championship, then why are we in this? I'm in it to win, man, I'm not in it to be coming back talking about next year. I'm 30. I've probably got 4 to 5 years, you know what I'm saying? My clock is ticking, man. I'm almost like a woman who's trying to get pregnant. My years are limited, so my clock is definitely ticking." |

Same story we've read for the past 3 years. I wish KG would actually
get serious with his threats. Maybe then Taylor would go out and get someone capable of running the team. This McHale thing is bloody absurd. I've been calling for his head so long that I've lost my voice. Hell, even Krush doesn't defend him anymore. Matt |

James will prove to be one of the best free agent acquisitions and Foye will be one of the best rookies. Nothing absurd about those two moves. One move that is turning out to be a blunder was McHale's assumption that he could build around KG. Bad move. KG is a great complimentary player, not a "number one go to guy." KG can make all the threats he wants, it won't do a thing. He's not good enough to garner enough in return in trade, and he'll have to sign for a lot less if he wants to leave when his contract is up. |

Besides, KG is only stating the obvious. We've wondered aloud here if the Wolves management is actually interested in vying for a championship or just trying to be good enough to keep enough butts in the seats to keep the team afloat until Taylor can make a big profit selling the team, be a BMOC, or whatever. My advice is "Don't drink any McHale Kool Aid." |
