I think the power of the media is an awesome thing and there was a
massive effort by the tabloid's to turn our fans against Ronaldo and
Ronaldo against our club. Quite simply they hate us and would do
anything to bring us down. They see us building yet another great
young team and we just have to be stopped at all costs, a good way to
do this is to drive out one of our best players. They were defeated
this time. Respect to those who ignored their efforts and stood by
Ronaldo, it will pay off huge dividends.

Ronaldo is still learning the game and will get better, football fans are a
fickle bunch. Can you re member how they gave Beckham a load of shit after
getting sent off for petulance against Diego Simeone. Look at the shit Tony
Adams used to get in the late 80's early 90's when many fans likened him to
a donkey. In short they knew fuck all at the time but when watching quality
players time after time they start to change attitudes. This business with
