Frankly, on a set that size... neither.

However, if you upgrade soon... HD-DVD is where I'd go. Never invest in a
Sony proprietary format. Fact is, most places that have both, neither is
selling really well, but BR is simply dead on arrival. Was at BB on Thursday
buying a new fridge, and wandered over to the A/V section and played a
little with their BR and HD, asked a couple sales guys about how they are
selling, BR has sold a couple, mostly Sony guys who just really wanted it.
HD sold about four times as many, and the reason, as almost always, is
price. Both produce good pictures and sound, so what's the diff? About $500.
In fact, you can get the HD-DVD at Amazon right now for $400.

The only hope BR has is studio exclusivity - Sony/Universal of course isn't
supporting HD, just like some studios didn't support DVD, they supported
DIVX. But, if HD can reach critical mass, that will all change.

Blue-Ray, in my opinion, will eventually be the "Playstation3" format,
nothing more.
