Manchester United's Wayne Rooney was involved in an incident at a
restaurant with Blackburn defender Michael Gray on Saturday, according
to his spokesman.

England striker Rooney, 20, was out with fiancee Coleen McLoughlin in
Manchester when Gray, 32, is reported to have approached the group.

A spokesman for Rooney claimed that Gray made offensive remarks to
female guests of the England international.

"Wayne asked him to go several times. It was a brief incident," he said.

Rooney is suspended from club duty and has only just completed an
international ban for his dismissal during England's World Cup
quarter-final defeat to Portugal.

He was out at the Panacea Bar and Restaurant in Manchester with his
fiancee and some friends.
