why not Flamini at left back?

after last years success, why hasn't Flamini been played at left back
instead of Hoyte? much has been said about Arsenal lack of will to
shoot but it was Hoyte's mistake that brought about Arsenal's defeat -
and another mistake nearly led to a goal. now, i just read an article
on arsenal.com about the possible choices for defense and Flamini's
name doesn't even come up in the discussion.

Couple of points:

1. We average equal top shots per game with Man U this season.

2. I agree, I can't see why he hasn't played him either!

Agreed. With Gallas as cb and Flamini as lb we should be covered. a

why not Flamini at left back?

I dont believe he wouldnt want to play there because if he is realistic with
himself he will realise that is his only chance of getting a run in the
first team. No disrespect to Flamini (who i think is a good player) but he
isnt going to dislodge Cesc or Gilberto from central midfield.
Hopefully Wenger will see sense and play him ay left back with Gallas in the
middle, however i have a strange feeling he will keep faith with Hoyte.
Thinking back a while didnt Ashley Cole start off with a couple of dubious
games including giving away a penalty in his first match .

why not Flamini at left back?

Don't forget RvP. He has the capacity to become a star, but needs more
consistency in his game.
Anyway, I'm getting quite comfortable with the squad, both for this season
and the next few years. Where else is there such a collection of young,
extremely talented footballers?
