I was at the game. Great game, as usual--and I was believing HOU hadthe Cards beat this game, but for the greatest position player in thegametoday, bar none. [Chris Carpenter is the best pitcher in the game today.] Every game the Cards play with the Astros is always a great gamebecause the two teams respect the other so much and have such greatcompetitors. Cards fans love to rib the Cubs to no end, but we don't do that againstHOU because they have so much class and have so much great talent andcompetitiveness. If you guys can win the Wild Card, it would be another great NLCS ifthe Astros and Cards play each other again. Good luck!
Hey Cardinal fan ... you can take your apology
I never apologized for wanting the Cardinals to beat the crap out of the Astros!

Actually, it was a tongue-in-cheek slam from the original "Bad News Bears".

Get a job and buy a sense of humor.

And another thing: Wait 'till next year!
And *you* can wait another year, and maybe the year after that because the Astros can only hope to win the NL Pennant via the second-rate, recently-invented Wild Card possibility with the Cardinals in the NL Central!

It was supposed to be a joke, okay? And a backhanded compliment.

I didn't get the connection-joke to the BNB movie until you mentioned
it, okay? I thought the cadence sounded vaguely familiar when I read it.

Obviously it didn't work, partly because you don't remember or didn't see the first "Bad News Bears" movie. These kids today ...

I *did* see the first (and second, I believe) BNB movie.
30 years now since the first one. A funny movie.

Where were the Cardinals the first three years of the Wild Card era? Sitting at home ...

Houston hasn't won since the year before Darryl Kile died (2002),
with the Cardinals.
His death really hurt, on both teams, and also players with CO at the
time.

Since then, the Cardinals have won 5 division titles, and the Astros have 4. That's not an overwhelming lead.

No, it sure isn't.
I wish the Cards had Oswalt as their 3rd good starter instead of
Marquis/Weaver.

Yeah I know that now after he mentioned it, and I saw the movie
when it first came out in 1976.

Roy is indeed an idiot, but he's an approximately 50 year old idiot.
