Astros' lineup today has six players with batting averages below .250 -
Biggio, Ensberg, Lane, Everett, Ausmus and Hirsh. How in the world does Garner expect any runs from this lackluster bunch. I understand the Phillies have a LHP throwing today but Huff and Scott hit them fairly well. Looks like Garner throws in Ensberg and Lane with the hope that this will be the game they break out of their season long slump. Sorry Phil, it ain't gonna happen. See ya next year - if you'll be back! |

It's not like the Astros have a roster of .300 hitters to choose from. Quote:
He doesn't. I don't think he's delusional like that. Quote:
Unfortunately, he probably will be back. And so will Purpura. And Biggio. And Lane. And Everett. And Ensberg. And Ausmus. And Pettitte. And Clemens. So the Astros will have the same great rotation and the same lousy offense and get the same results. At least Drayton is loyal. |

They posted a graphic of the top 5 Astros in OPS the other day during a game. Deshayes made a point of saying how pitiful it was... that some of those guys were at the bottom of the league. |

I saw that, and laughed because I was thinking the same thing when Bill Brown was rattling off about the Astros leaders. JD was fast to the punch, though, in responding as he did. |

That's why I like those two. Being paid by the Astros, I wonder if he regreted his comment right after he said it? |

I'd hope that McLane wouldn't be like Tribune and fire an announcer for being honest, even if Steve Stone was a bit more brutal about his points than DeShaies was. |
