What the hell is a "Calder Cup?" Some minor league "trophy?"Or is it some irrellevant "chick" league trophy?
Evidently, news doesn't get to Bryan/College Station very fast...the CalderCup is what AHL teams skate for - you know, that league that provides most ofthe North American players to the NHL?
Not that I really give a spit about hockey, but that would make it anirrelevant minor league "trophy", right? Who cares, in reality?

Those who notice that there are more pro hockey teams in Texas (eleven) than
in all of Canada (ten), for a start.

San Antonio has not not had AHL for very many years yet. Give us time. It
took quite a few years for our Spurs to get their first trophy.

So, you don't know what the Rampage (a/k/a Silver Scum to Houston Aeros fans ;-) play for? True...and the Rockets took 23 years to win that first one after moving here
from San Diego in 1971. As far as the hockey goes, the WHA Aeros won two of
the first three titles (though I'll admit having Gordie Howe and two of his
sons on a line didn't hurt), and the minor-league Aeros won the Turner Cup in
their fifth season, along with the AHL's Calder Cup in their ninth. For what
it's worth, with the Rampage being stocked by Phoenix, the two teams in the
I-10 Gallon Hat rivalry look to be more evenly matched this season than all
the way back to the 1996-97 wrangle between the Aeros and Dragons (which ended
with the Aeros winning the head-to-head series by a single point - 6-5-1 to
the Dragons' 6-6). We'll see what hits the ice Saturday night in Sugar Land.

Well, its just one man's opinion. I think his point is, people come to SA to see the Alamo, maybe even the Missions, but there's much more to the city.

Now you're talking. I don't want to see any of the other
museums.....Show me where Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli play and a
tribute to David Robinson, Sean Elliott, Mike Mitchell, Johnny Moore
and the ice man.
