OK, I'm going to sound like a hypocrite, since I've had a few extended "discussions" with Jeff in the past. All I can say is that I finally figured him out and haven't responded in a while. Guys, your responses are what he feeds off of. I'm not even sure that he believes half the crap he writes. He just does it because he knows that you'll get upset and respond.
Sorry Ken, but I don't get upset. We all know what Alsip is.... and I like to expose him - to himself. It's all just a matter of time when his harrassment comes crashing down on him. Not today, but tomorrow..... I like to get a good chuckle from him because not only does he not know a thing about baseball, but whatever he thinks or believes - doesn't matter to me. Nor should it matter to any of us or in any other baseball NG. I used to own an ugly contemptuous mutt that loved to eat whatever fell onto the floor (or whatever had been tossed his way). He was mean to kids and sometimes would bite them. He was arrogant and proud and ate everything like a digestable vacuum cleaner. He would wag his tail because he thought that he was "it". So one day as he was standing there with his mouth wide open waiting for some goodies, I dropped a green olive into his mouth. It sure was fun to watch it gag. The look on its face was like "that's not what I deserved". Alsip is going to gag because all of his expectations are far from anything forseeably deserved. I await another season of his haggling. We have a team that has more often than not, a fighting spirit. Right now (as far as my own appreciations), it's about loyalty. I get frustrated with the way the team seems to have been rolling over. But at least they played a good season. The fans love the long ball and they love the intensity. I doubt that there's a more exciting team in the majors that can provide such to their fans than these White Sox of 2006. Whatever Alsip has going for him - well, it can't be much.

I understand what you're saying. However, you mention that you like to
expose him to himself. However, my point is, he knows exactly what he is.
He just doesn't care. His enjoyment isn't in bashing the Sox and their
fans - his enjoyment is in getting a response from them. The best way for
his harassment to come crashing down on him is to ignore him completely. I
honestly don't think that he believes half of the crap that he spews - he
just loves getting those responses from us. Deprive him of those responses,
and he'll go away and be an asshole in some other newsgroup.

Anyway, that's my $0.02. Thanks for listening.

You're right. It's just an exercise of the Cubbie troll's insane
jealousy and bitter envy. The Cubbie troll needs to get back
professional help and get back on his meds.

Here are those questions (again) that the Cubbie troll can't answer:

1. How many teams have "one in and then out" with World Series
Championships?

2. How many have repeated?

3. The teams that have "one in and then out," or not repeated, are
their World Championships unworthy?

4. If your "lovable losers" won a World Series then did not repeat or
finished out of contention the next how would you feel about the World
Championship? Would it be worthless, or unworthy of being celebrated
by Cubbie fans?

Well, the season is now officially over for the White Sox. I for one
feel a great sense of pride in the fact that I did my part to get
obnoxious White Sox Fans to finally shut-the-fuck-up. My work is done,
and I have earned a nice vacation from your combined abuse.

A look at the four posts, that I have quoted above, will serve to
illustrate a very sad point. Since there is clearly NO Sox-related news
to discuss...I have become the object of discussion! What will they
discuss with me gone away to concentrate on Football? Perhaps we will
see some posts about the latest Oprah or Jerry Springer?

I am also pleased to report that the Sox fans that I meet, in real
life, on a daily basis have also chosen to remain silent...indeed they
all carry a look of deflated meekness. It has been a long difficult
road, for me, but I have stayed the course...I fought the good fight.
Now, it's time to rest......

Jeffrey Alsip
