Aye... we're all petty excited. Continuity.

And by the way, they didn't mail a letter to season ticket holders, as
in recent bad seasons; they e-mailed it. So a few people we know
never even got the word, except in the paper. Saved them the price of
postage, we guess. Oh, and the e-mail had no 'reply' capability.

What a class act Ms ownership is.

Despite a lot of fans lack of enthusiasm for the current Mariners
management;as far as Hargrove is concerned,he *STILL* is a better
manager than Bob Melvin ever hoped to be.
The only fault I find with Hargrove is he is too analytical in personnel
decisions and waits too long to make a change when things are going
south. He needs to react more from gut instinct
in my opinion. All Melvin ever did was stand on the sidelines and act
like a wooden cigar store
"Indian"....totally nonreactive.Hargrove will eventually try and shake
things up.He is just fulfilling the remains of his 3 year contract.
I have a hunch if some significant improvement
this year does not happen,he will not be tendered with another one.
As to Bavasi,I am not so enamored with some of his personnel choices
either. At least he knows something about baseball.I just wish
the VP Howard Lincoln would retire and stay away from baseball
decisions. That is where the shakeup should occur.

The aforementioned ownership does not seem to want to stock this team up
with players that will enable it to be a contender. It has become a
training ground for players to leave to further their careers and get into
post-season.
