Default The Rose Award For 10-1-2006.

The Rose Award goes to Ivan Rodriguez of the Detroit Tigers, who went
three-for-three with three RBI and scored one run in a 10-8 loss to the
Kansas City Royals.

The Tigers wasted a great opportunity to win the A.L. Central, blowing
a six-run lead and then watching All-Star starter Kenny Rogers give a
bases-loaded walk to Emil Brown in the 12th inning.

This concludes the 2006 regular season Rose Award presentation.

And a special season it was, too! Did Baby Bonds even make it this
year? Hope not.

The rose committee deserves recognition for a job well done. None
of the people who razz the rose committee have the sticktoituvness
necessary to sit and analyze the world of baseball, every single
day.

You and Rose deserve each other. You're both butt nuggets.

You mean the Rose Award winner didn't go out and talk to his pitcher to
settle him down in a tight situation? My, how the standards for the
Rose Award have dropped.

I was quite impressed with the Sept. 11 Rose Award. Showed about as
much class as . . . well, as you do.

We have to check this season's award presentation more thoroughly, but
offhand, we believe that Baby Bonds won The Rose Award two times.

Thanks, rm, for the kind words!
