Default New Braves coaching staff -- 2007

Oct. 3, 2006
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

ATLANTA -- Braves manager Bobby Cox said Tuesday that longtime bench
coach Pat Corrales will not be back with the team next season.

Atlanta also will be without third base coach Fredi Gonzalez, who was
named manager of the Florida Marlins, and bullpen coach Bobby Dews, who
will return in a different role next season. Atlanta's run of 14
consecutive division titles ended this season when the Braves slipped
to a 79-83 record.

Atlanta filled the three coaching spots by promoting from within the
organization. New to the staff will be bench coach Chino Cadahia, third
base coach Brian Snitker and bullpen coach Eddie Perez, the former
Braves catcher.

First base coach Glenn Hubbard, pitching coach Roger McDowell and
hitting coach Terry Pendleton will return for next season.

The Braves said the 65-year-old Corrales' contract was not renewed by
mutual agreement of the former big league manager and the team. He was
the Braves' bench coach for eight years following a nine-year career as
a manager with Texas, Philadelphia and Cleveland.

Dews will be with the team in spring training and at most home games
but will work in the minor leagues when the Braves are on the road.

Maybe, though I imagine TP will at least be interviewed for a few
manager jobs around the leagues.

He won't take them. He's Bobby Cox' successor.
