They already have one "All Star" play-by-playguy. What they needed was somebody like Tom Browning. And maybe theystill will... the Enquirer story says:"Thom has national obligations that include calling NFL and baseballgames for Fox. As a result, he'll split his time evenly between radioand television and do about 90 games total for the Reds."If it only serves to lock Thom up as the eventual replacement forMarty, I suppose that's a good thing... but wasn't that likely eitherway? And will he then chuck his "national obligations?"They're still gonna have to hire another guy before the season. Whowill it be? Browning?
Kent Mercker.
Mercker has indicated that he's having a change of heart and is going to attempt to pitch again if the operation is as successful as Kremchek says it was.

So in other words, he's done.

No. The TV deal was expanded next year to include 45 extra games. The two tv guys were only contracted to do 100 and didn't want to dothe extras.
Oh, thanks. So, we'll get TBrenneman and somebody (Kent Mercker) for 45 games and Grande and Welsh for 100, presumably?

Maybe you'll get Mini-Marty and Steve Stewart.
