Very good season......terrible post season. Gardy did nothing to rock a
lineup that was slumping. He can pat himself on the back all he wants for
winning 96 games, but a turd could have managed the team to 3 straight
playoff losses. Slumps happen, but the 3 week batting slump and
Gardenhire's lack of any proactive action just shows his lack of any
managerial expertise. He will never be viewed as a master tactician.

I dunno...you go with the guys who got you there. Can you seriously blame
him for the series loss?

Probably not, nor can you give him credit for the wins either. He is
basically a hands off manager that just wants to be one of the guys.
Average, not exceptional, and no way a manager of the year candidate.

What? The Twins beat themselves.

Game 1: Impatient at the plate, swinging at balls, letting Zito off the
hook. Castillo couldn't bunt.

Game 2: Left a lot of runners on base. Torii's gaffe. Nathan's wild
pitch.

Game 3: Left four runners stranded in the first two innings. Three
errors let in a lot of runs. Hunter was called out when he was safe.

Couldn't Gardy have managed the team to be a bit more patient??

Gardy bunting Torii....super. Of course Torii's next at bat was a home
run. Sure could have used that in the second inning. This was the
first sacrifice bunt Torii had this year. Yeah.....let's take a hot
hitter and have him bunt. Gardy is a dolt.

I'm not sure that was Gardy putting on the bunt. I think that was Torii
trying to bunt for a base hit. I actually agreed with it at the time.
The Twins were having a tough time scoring runs in the previous two
games and now they had Morneau on third with one out. I thought for
sure they were going to draw first blood.

BTW, historically I'm not Gardenhire booster but I couldn't fault him
for much the past few months.
