What about 1987? I was there for games 1 and 2, and I thought they were great. Alexander and Morris just could not lose, everyone said. But lose they did, because, on those 2 nights anyway, they were no match for Gaetti, Hrbek, Puckett, Gladden, and, and, Buck Ninety himself, Tim Laudnerm (not to mention Viola and Blyleven). After those 2 nights, well, the rest of the season was history. What about that didn't you like. It was great baseball in my book. Brian J |

Good post Brian J I was at Tiger Stadium for the last 2 games against Toronto. Man it was great. The Tigers were a decent team then. Then they ran into the Twins and they beat us solid. I was bummed. That's sports! Thus, I always like it when the Twins lose. I'd have rather played the Twins then the Yankees this year. The Tigers need to beat them. Not for me(well maybe) but the Twins have pretty much dominated the Tigers over the years and it would be good for the team. I can still see our cast off Juan Berenguer grinning and striking us out. We shoulda kept him. As I pointed out in my original subject I don't dislike many teams cause sport personnel is so changing. I will tune in any of the major sports just to watch the final moments of the championship game usually not caring who wins just because I like the "thrill of victory and agony of defeat" aspect. Who's going to be the goat? The hero? I make an exception for the Twins though. I hope they never win anything again Though I was pulling for you guys in 65. That was a great series. Yep, I'm that old and older. Sam Hey We beat the Yankees!!!! BTW I don't feel the same about the A's as I do the Twins and they beat us in 72. Go figure. |

I feel the same way about the White Sox. And the Dallas Cowpokes, who are losing big time to the Eagles. DES |
