Default KT's Branyan Deal scores

KT's acquisition of Russell Branyan for an A-league pitcher pays
off again, with a 2-run double giving the Padres their first post-
season lead since 1998.

Attaboy, KT.

I hope they keep him for a few years. He's a gamer and they have nobody else
to play to third. Keep Branyan and let him work a little more with Rettmund.

I don't. He had a nice couple weeks when he got here, but since then he's
displayed an alarming inability to make contact with chest-high fastballs
over the middle of the plate, which is a hard way to make a living when
you're a left-handed power hitter who's already 30 years old.

So because they have nobody else they should settle for a guy who sucks?
That's the same sort of thinking that got us into the Castilla mess. Call
the White Sox and find out what they want for Joe Crede, who's very much on
the trade block and would instantly become the best hitter in our lineup.

Who's out there on the free agent market for 3rd baseman? They should
look there first before making a deal.

Outside of Aramis Ramirez, absolutely no one of consequence.

Why? This franchise hasn't signed a big-name free agent since 1986, and
there's no reason to think they'll start now.

The Stanks are looking to dump A-Rod.
