Well let me make it simple for you, because that is apparently what you need to understand what I posted. 1. A large part of the Yankees roster will turn over during the off season as Sheffield and Mussina won't likely be back, Johnson's knees are basically bone on bone and he has back problems and has also had a drastic drop on the velocity of his fastball. They will probably look to trade Rodriguez, which would not be a smart move, and even if they don't trade him, but put him on the market, it will further kill any feeling he has to being wanted by the Yankees. Bernie is probably either gone or retiring. Posada is old for a catcher. Abreu's power numbers are half of what they were up to last season. Matsui is horrible in the outfield, but not as bad Giambi is at first, and who by the way is having wrist surgery, which may or may not affect his swing, considering strong wrists are important to a power hitter. Rivera is now closer to 40 than 30. Their best starter next season at this point looks like it will probably be Wang, which I'm sure is leaving Boston and Toronto shaking. 2. There minor league system is ready to send up a whyole lot of guys that are ready for the Majors like Phil Hughes and....uhm...give me a moment...oh wait they traded all those guys for players they didn't need. 3. It's great to be able to spend $200+ million on players, but doesn't do a lot of good if you don't have any team chemistry, and you are constantly watching the World Series from your living room instead of your teams dugout. It's also great for team chemistry when you keep threatening to fire one of the best managers in baseball, who most every player that has ever played for him likes, and handles the New York media than any manager they have ever had. 4. The Yankees have the greatest history of any team in any sport, yet have a moronic fan base who have possibly the greatest player of all-time in their lineup and they constantly boo him and want to run him out of town. By the way he was the AL MVP last year and this year went .290-35-121-15. 5. The payroll of the two teams playing in the ALCS is about half of the Yankees entire payroll, add the Twins payroll and it's still less combined than the Yankees. Hey the Yankees have players on their team that make more than the entire roster of my home team, but it doesn't really matter when you consider that both of them are already enjoying their offseasons. Jeter deserves better than this. If you'd like more, feel free to let me know. I will pretty much guarantee that I know more about baseball than you do.

Blah, blah, blah. First of all, your initial reply was a complete
non-sequitur to what I posted. Either you knew that and were
attempting a wiseass comeback or you have a problem with basic
English.

Secondly, you've posted nothing below that qualifies as news. The
problem is that it doesn't come remotely close to a convincing case
that the Yankees won't make the playoffs next year. In fact, many of
the points you brought up involve the results once the team gets to
the playoffs, which, of course, was not the topic.

If, in fact, know more about baseball than I do, it sure as hell isn't
evident from anything you've posted here.
