Default Twins employees play-roll 2006: More Info

More Info from S.&T.

Several of their future cornerstones such as Francisco Liriano, Boof Bonser,
Glen Perkins, Pat Neshek and Jesse Crain are all under control, making
salaries of about $375,000 next year.

And they've already addressed two of their heart-and-soul characters --
Reyes and Mike Redmond -- with two-year extensions.

With Radke, Shannon Stewart and Kyle Lohse coming off the books, that's a
$20 million savings. But Santana's salary jumps by $3 million (to $12
million next year), Nathan's jumps by $1.5 million, and the
arbitration-eligible players will gobble up the rest of the savings quickly.

So it's uncertain how much room General Manager Terry Ryan will have to add
a left fielder or a veteran pitcher to replace Radke.

Good guys to still have under contract. No complaints there.

That is a nice chunk of money to have ready to allocate to new
contracts/options and the free agent market! And besides Radke,
none of those are huge losses, IMO.

That's a tough call. It would be nice to see Torii finish his career
as a Twin, but that's a lot of money. Is he still worth that amount?

Carlos Silva($4 million or $100,000 buyout)

Depends on what the free agent market has to offer as a
replacement for Silva.

White is a maybe, the rest can go.

Time to offer some reward to Mauer and Punto at least. Possibly
Cuddyer as well.

Liriano, Bartlett, Bonser, Garza, Neshek all need to be retained. The
rest are debatable, IMO.
