Yeah, I just unofficially polled the Yankees newsgroup about their lineup next year. All but one is keeping Abreu and that one wants to trade him for pitching. I got no indication of them wanting him to leave town. There are several emotion comments about wanting Arod to leave, but if they were viewed analytically, they probably wouldnt' be happy unless Arod hit .340 and drove in 150 every year. He is realistically overpaid though. 25 million is about 5-8 million too much. But the true 'faithfull' Yankees fans seem to want to build up Rodriguez and not tear him down more. They think he will rebound if Pinella heads up the ship. TonyG

What kills me is the Yankees think their season is a disaster if they don't
win the World Series. How dare Joe Torre not take them to the World Series
and for that he will be fired. Spoiled Yankees fans. What they need is a
healthy dose of the Phillies management to help them appreciate what they
have.

and the faithfull at Yankee stadium want A rod and Abreu to leave town Abreu? Yankee fans think Phillies fans (and management) are mentally deficient for eagerly wanting to get rid of Abreu. Not defending Abreu since he ain't a Phillie anymore, but if one more Yankee fan asks me if the Phillies and their fans are retarted...

What's retarDed is thinking that Ed is the purveyor of any kind of
truth. Even more retarDed is thinking that the opinion of a few people
on a newsgroup is indicative of a fan base.
