Sean Casey may get all the press, but Todd Jones was a classy professional
while he was here. After his experience in Colorado, he doesn't seem to talk with the press anymore, but I the dude has done well. |

Todd Jones actually writes a column for The Sporting News magazine and it's usually a pretty good read. It's interesting how he went from being kind of a has-been to a crucial piece of that Tigers bullpen this season. |

TJ is a shining example of the unpredicability of the relief role. Who would've thought that he'd have the success he's had as a closer since leaving. I've been trying to come up with a list of "formers" from this year's playoffs to see if they could field a complete team... LHP David Wells LHP Dennis Reyes LHP Ron Villone LHP Shawn Estes (DL) RHP Brett Tomko RHP Corey Lidle RHP Josh Hancock RHP Todd Jones CF Mike Cameron RF Juan Encarnarcion LF Michael Tucker 1B Sean Casey 2B Todd Walker SS D'Angelo Jimenez 3B Russel Branyon Missing a catcher. Have LHP Dave Williams, RHP Scott Williamson, and RHP Elmer Dessens on 40, so maybe we could work a trade for one. My least "root fors" would be Lidle and Jimenez. Lidle's already out, and Jimenez had a pretty big error last night that seemed to jump start the tiggers last night and threw Zito out of kilter. |
