That's my take on it exactly. There is no magic fix in this year's FAcrop, the Giants have been celebrating history for years now, and whois going to pay to come watch a team led by Feliz, Linden, andEllison? Sign Bonds, make the year of the All Star game in SF a littlemore interesting, give people at least SOME reason to come to thepark, and watch Barry chase the record. And compare that with the negative draw of having Bonds close in on the record in some other uniform.

Very good point. After years of watching the Bonds era unfold in SF, I
would feel extremely violated if this happened with Bonds in another
uniform. Finish the process, then get on with rebuilding the team. There is
little to be accomplished starting rebuilding the team next season, so
finish off the looking back era, then get down to it. Either Barry will
break the record next season, or he will establish himself as being
finished. Either way, it will be closure of one era, and the beginning of
another.

I'd rather watch a good, young, balanced lineup with good, if not great, pitching than watch Bonds chase the HR record.

However, those aren't the choices being offered in the real world.

Being the odds of the Giants winning the WS is so low for next year, at
least
if we have Barry, there will be additional reason to watch.

Yeah I agree with you. I would watch the Giants if Barry Bonds was still part of the team, IMO.
