Default Torii to stay too !!!

I know the idea of signing Hunter as a free agent was met with mixed
thoughts here, he appealed to me in many ways, but regardless, this is
one less big bat option for the Red Sox. I suppose a trade isn't beyond
possible but doesn't it seem unlikely they'd pick up his option just to
trade him? Or could that be a way of getting something for him? The
interesting line to me was it being the Twins biggest salary. Plus
giving up players for him is diffrent than just signing him.
---------------------------------------------------
The Twins picked up their 2007 option on Hunter's contract Tuesday, and
his $12 million salary will be the largest single-season sum in team
history.
The five-time Gold Glove award winner wants to stay with Minnesota
longer than that, but if his deal isn't extended by the spring, he
sounded resigned to leaving as a free agent next year

Great header, Don!

I'm not sure what the Twins plan to do either. Hunter is very popular
there, but of course this could be a "sign and trade."

I wouldn't be upset if Boston ever got Hunter, who seems to like the
idea of rejoining Ortiz. Torii is a good fielder, has charisma, and
hits some homers. But IMHO he's just a complementary player, and I'd
only want him if the Red Sox made other moves to boost the lineup.

Dave says:

I'm usually not a big fan of gimmick headers, or head lines in papers
(They're very over used for one thing.) but this one was just too good
and obvious to pass up given the timing.
