Here is the power duo we need to get us to the next level. Let's
bring 'em in.

We'd be better off with Ramirez and Zito.

If they stretched, I could maybe see them going for one, but both? No way.

Well in A-Rod's case .. he has one year on his contract and a no trade
clause. The Yankees want pitching. I'm not sure there is anyone we
really want to give up at this point. And you can't look past the fact
that Alex Rodriguez's salary was $25,680,727 in 2006.

Soriano made $10 mil last year so he isn't cheap either .. I'm not
sure if he is a free agent at this point to be honest but if he is
under contract, the Nationals are looking for pitching also .. they
dropped practically their entire pitching staff. So again, the
question is who do you want to give up?

I believe Soriano is a FA after this season, so it's a case of being the
highest, or at least most appealing, bidder.

Why would the business men at the top of the organization do anything like
this? Would spending these millions come close to penciling out? I don't
know, but I'd guess not. Especially given the gamble it would be. I predict
little will be done except in the marketing department. We fans love that
stuff, fills the seats and sells advertising and product and that is the
real game being played anyway. Win or loose, THEY alway$ win.
