I really hope they follow through on this -- although LeBron will have to watch himself. I suspect he'll adapt. -- "To see things in the seed, that is genius." --Lao-Tzu |

My feeling is we will not be watching basketball as we used to. Who the hell came up with this new ball idea? The players don't like it so why change? I thought the old ball worked just fine. Then we have the new rules favoring offense. No handchecking. Pitty-pat fouls for everything that I believe will slow the game down and make it boring unless you enjoy seeing players drive the lanes for uncontested lay-ups all game long or standing at the foul line. players fouling out will become routine unless they just don't play defense. Now this shit. I think Sheed cannot get called for enough technicals. They did say a handful of players. And there are some persistent whiners that should be T'd up. But the article goes on to say cursing, throwing your hands up.....will be reasons to again stop the game and give a technical!.WTF! These guys are wrapped up in a close game late in the fourth quarter and a questionable call is made and they can't curse or throw their hands up. These guys are emotionally into these games. It is tough to lose on a bad call or worse, because someone hits a free throw due to a T. Players are all over the place in how they express themselves. But sometimes these are spur of the moment gut reactions. How will situations be handled? Some players are diplomatic. Some are Sheed. Most are in between. These guys are never schooled on etiquette (you could argue maybe they should be). But you will see Z and Lebron regularly T'd under these rules. What about Snow's facial expression. Where do you draw the line? I think the majority of guys in the middle will be picking up T's on a fairly regular basis. I guess you have to walk in the other direction if Steve Javee or Dick Bavetta call a foul on you or will that be considered showing the ref up? I thought the rule was fine as it was. I guess I am glad we don't have many drama queens. Find a new face Lebron. I didn't like the old one anyhow and never saw it on Jordan. I guess we won't know until the season begins how much these rules will change the game but I don't like any of them. Keith |
