I am certain A-Rod is movable for the right package, and I have to think that it would need to include at minimum decent young pitching and a serviceable third baseman to take A-Rod's place.

"Decent" young pitching won't get it done. It would have to be star quality young pitching. And it would have to include more than one top-notch prospect.

Why?
Alex is one of the best players in the game, at least until October, but
moving him for decent pitching instead of star pitching, and swapping
salaries, makes sense if he really is problematic in the yankees lineup.
