Default Yankees getting desperate trying to take spotlight away from Mets

The Joe Torre situation was bad enough: Distract people from the Mets'
pursuit of a title by propagating rumors that the Yankees manager was going
to be fired. Unfortunately (for them), it lasted only three days. This was
supposed to be Mets-ville the rest of October.

But now the Yankees have gone too far. Killing off a pitcher to distract
people from the Mets? Can they for once let the Mets take the spotlight?
Can't George relax and let the Mets rule the town for one year? He has left
a child father-less as a result. I hope he gets his just desserts.

I fear for what we will see if the Mets advance past St. Louis.

Jane Dornacker perished the day of the Mets 1986 WS game 4.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Dornacker

On October 22, 1986, at 4:44 PM, while Dornacker was giving one of the
station's N-Copter traffic reports, the helicopter plunged from an
altitude of roughly 75 feet into the Hudson River. On her final radio
broadcast she was giving a report of a tractor trailer and a car
getting into an accident and a car fire. She also stated that the
outbound Holland Tunnel was heavy with traffic and that the Lincoln
Tunnel was much better with traffic and a car fire. Dornacker was
starting her report for incoming New Jersey traffic when the helicopter
stalled in mid broadcast. The following is a transcript of the last
minutes of her live broadcast in which the crash occurred:

Steinbrenner himself will try to blame it on Clinton.
