Danny Ferry and the Shaq effect

I feel like Danny Ferry doesn't understand the Shaq effect well - I think
he's overpaid for Damon Jones, and tried to overpay for Udonis Haslem...
Cavs should be better, but overall I'm underwhelmed; the Hughes signing
needs to really pan out.

I have quite a dilemma now in rooting for Eastern conference contenders; I
am from Cleveland originally, lived most of my life in Indiana, and now
live in Detroit...love the players on all these teams - LeBron, Wallace
boys; and also love Shaq and Wade...and to top it all off I am a lifelong
dedicated fan of Boston (not that they're a contender.) I rooted for Miami
to beat Detroit last year, but now Detroit is influencing me...I have to
rank them now as 1. boston 2. cleveland 3. indiana 4. detroit 5. miami; the
only teams out west that I particularly like now are Dallas and Houston,
might as well put them at 6/7. My mental health is better now that I have
put aside my hatred of San Antonio though.

I spent 35 years in Cleveland and moved to Phoenix in 1990. I never hopped
on the Phoenix bandwagon (Suns, Diamondbacks and uh.....Cards) even when the
Suns went to the NBA finals and the D-backs won the World Series (though I
am a Yankee hater and that comes from Cleveland).

I have always followed Cleveland sports teams (Cavs, Indians and yes the
Browns). No dilemma. I know where my heart is. I have no numbers 2,3,4 etc.
But that's just me. I can't see it any other way.

But how do you decide who to root for in games not involving Cleveland?
Surely there are other teams you like? The Celtics are the same for me, an
undisputed #1 in my heart...

That's right!!! Cavs, Indians, Browns and Buckeyes all the way. I don't
see how you can root for multiple teams in the same league when the ultimate
goal is to win the championship of said league. In games not involving
Cleveland teams, I just root AGAINST the team I hate more.
