Default Why is Isiah so stupid??

Im trying hard to figure out what Isiah felt like he had
accomplished when he went to bed last night.

Why didn't he make an offer to Curry during Free Agency
if he was willing to give up this much to get him now?

Why would he be dealing with Paxson at all after getting
publicly duped in the Crawford deal?? Is Isiah essentially
saying that one year hence he would make that deal again??
This is worse than Billy Beane and Kenny Williams.

I wonder if Larry Brown is already plotting his exit
from NY? My god, if he wouldn't play Milic then
what the hell can he hope to do with Curry's no
defending ass??

That's the best part about Isiah. He's sitting at his
desk with a bunch of basketball cards, smiling and
nodding his head. I think he even may have punched
the air in a moment of delirious abandon.

The Knicks are capped out (now, until most likely 2011),
so he couldn't offer anything. But still, those numbers,
if they're accurate as reported, are staggering. I figured
a Kwame-like deal would not be out of the question (two
years guaranteed, third year option at $7 million per).
Instead we get 6 years (with a *player* option in the 4th
year) escalating up with the annual raises to make it
average a nice, neat $10 million per. That makes Jerome
James look like a bargain.

This is so strange. The team may as well call themselves
The Anti-Larries. Quentin Richardson, I can see, may
get back on track: maybe it's homeritis but I think he's
a good kid and it's not like D'Antoni was surprised when
he hoisted up his 300th 3 point attempt last season.
Jamal has had all kinds of coaches and ignored them all:
screamers (Skiles), Good People (Cartwright), weird
milquetoasts (Pink Floyd), basketball legends (Lenny).
Marbury too, for that matter. I can't imagine what he
was thinking or how a guy with his reputation and
paycheck can have so little to do with personnel. He's
*not* a very good personnel guy based on the moves
he argued for in Indiana and Philly but there's such
a huge difference between pining for Eric Snow and
ignoring Jalen Rose on one hand and locking up Eddy
and Jamal into the next decade on the other.
