I know he is to be a backup to Miller but how may under 5 pts per game
players do they need.I think this is all a dumb down by the team. They know that the vote will never go through and it would be easier moving the team if they start to barely make the playoffs then exit early. |

havn't you noticed, its been the plan all along. Think about this. Artests contract is not long term, and do you think he is going to stay in a place like sacramento or bolt for NY, LAC, Miami, etc. We have the best GM in the league but yet the moves latley smell Maloof Brothers all over them. john http://johntaylor.somee.com |

get this I got on the sac bee website today and people were posting
there thoughts on the woods article. People are actually excited about him. Why? He's a second stringer who plays behind someone that should be a 3rd stringer on defence. I don't get some people. john |

Geoff was able to pull off a young Chris Weber for an old Mitch Richmond (I almost cried when I heard about that). It ended up turing Sac into a legitamint team and one that gets mentioned at the water cooler. I think it could have been the best move in the last 10 years. You might argue that latley he hasn't done much but you have to realize that he's not the one making some of these moves its those Maloof brothers. They should stick to building casinos. That was a great trade, no doubt. But it's one deal. I don't know that one deal, as good as it was, bags you the "Best GM in the league". Geoff's had a couple questionable draft picks, which is his job as well. Plus Bobby Jackson for Bonzi is not a great move in my book. Peja for Artest could be another great one, but we have to wait and see. I think personally that Bryan Colangelo and Jerry West could lay claim to the award as well. Rizzo |

I'm not so hot on Jerry West. the grizzlies haven't really been a "force" in the league. SA has done well in the FA market, so you can make a case there and Chi has drafted well, but other than big ben(who i think is overhyped and overpaid) the FA market hasen't been much. We will see how they do this year but really if they were in the west they would be struggling to make the playoffs. And as for the draft, the last two years the kings have picked up the sleepers in the draft (two great moves). We'll see how they end up in the long run. The biggest critism I would have of Geoff would be that he lets the Maloofs do his job, but I guess to get paid so someone else can do work and you just claim it wouldn't be too bad. John |

Dude, You have to factor in his Laker days. He brought in Shaq, drafted Kobe, brought in Horry, drafted Fisher, hired Jackson out of retirement.... When he took over Memphis they were not a playoff team, and had never been one going back to Vancouver. I believe he traded Sharif for the third pick and drafted Gasol. He's a great GM. I'm not a Laker fan or a Memphis fan so I think I'm being objective. Rizzo |

**** Which sleepers are those? What players are you talking about. ??? I have yet to see any impact players come out of those two drafts that play for the Kings. Upside maybe. Potenital, sure. Steals? I don't know. Great picks? Time will tell. ***** We'll see how they end up in the long run. Quote:
Can't have it both ways. He either makes the moves or he doesn't...I guess the bad ones are all the owners and the good ones are his, huh? Quote:

Just look at the history of the kings personal wise. When the Maloofs Brothers took over the team things slowly started to go bad. They were always a good team b/c they managed to have 5-6 good players. It was slowly degrading to where we are today. Its to bad, but I think the point about moving the team is correct. If they suck no one will care, but if they are competing with Dal, SA and the suns for West Conf champ, the NBA aint going to let them move the kings. John |
