I like this move even more. Piece to a championship puzzle. He is the kind of guy that can help us, especially with guys like Shaq. Could the final piece be Wesley? Along with a healthy Hughes and Marshall finding his shot? Keith |

I freaked out for about 14 seconds when I saw Anderson Varejao in the title, but aside from that minor panic, yeah, great move. At least a very good backup, and not too old, either. "Marshall fining his shot" is a bit optimistic, though; "a healthy Hughes" irresponsibly so. -- Jeremey |

i didn't see this coming. but i'd rather have pollard than evans. i like the different wrinkles each big man adds (except for gooden zoning out of course) to the mix. "i can spell. i just can't type." |

Pollard's one of those guys you hate unless he's on your team. Nice move! |

Kind of like Danny Fortson. He is a hack and an enforcer. It would be nice to see that thug in a Cavs uniform, though I really can't stand the guy. Keith |

I am trying this glass half empty idea, though Marshall will be on a short leash with me. He desperately needs to be the guy we thought we signed to get us to the next level. I believe this is a key to our improving along with somebody emerging with an outside shot and defense (Brown?) and whether or not we pick up a PG or simply use Brown or Gibson. Due to the cap situation, we are pretty limited in what we can do. So what we have must improve. Keith Keith |

I agree with your take on the versatility this gives us with our bigs. Pollard gives us a more physical player than we had before and is a legit backup C with his size and height. Also I agree this was a better move than Evans, who I believe was only an option if Gooden left. Kudos to Ferry. I am agreeing with you way too much lately, but if Marshall has another season like last year, we will surely be disagreeing again though I don't think either one of us will change the other's mind. Let's hope Marshall find his stroke and moves a little more. Keith Keith |

No. He's got more offense than Fortson. I really like this pickup. Henderson would have been better than Evans, and this is a nice piece for us. |

Need a PG. Someone like Luke Ridnour would fit in perfectly. Pass first kind of a guy that can defend and hit the mid range jumper... Rizzo |

Would be nice. Right now, we do not really require a classic point guard, just someone to get the ball across the timeline and into Lebron's hands where our offense flows from. We have no cap space so barring a trade to get a PG, this will not happen. Seattle's asking price would be too high for us and we do not have players with reasonable contracts they would be interested in. We may add a Wesley or some other aging veteran at a very small price but I doubt anything more. Keith |
