Would you trade Rasheed Wallace for Chris Webber straight up?
I would, Webb's numbers were amazingly better than Wallace's last year. He's probably not the player of old but I suspect there is plenty left in the tank if he could get truly in the hunt for a title. Webber is hungry, local guy, well loved even after controversy and should have been a Piston years ago. Sheed is a Phili and cheese steak kid who needs to be sent home. He has his ring! I don't think he cares much for Flip Saunders and could be well prepared to combat him this season with Ben gone. Flip with Ben out of the way has be given seemingly even more power in the locker room which could lead to a disruption and rebellion by Sheed who has an obvious dislike for authoritive figures. His numbers and behavior were erradic at times last year and his money is given. He has no need to exceed and could go the whole season just going through the motions. Personally I'd move him or at least hire Lamibeer or Mahorn as Flips' assistant so Sheed has someone on that bench he has to respect. |

Webers body is not going to last. The only reason i could which isn't true
would be to lower the teams salary level. We need another big guy for now but Garnett was like the only 1 worth getting. With the league changing i think the object is now keep it close and hope some foreigners work out that are faster & white. Team attitudes are changing and most of the guys who think they are all-stars are on their way out that have been around for 7-10 years which leaves nobody in the drivers seat anywhere. There is not 1 team that is stacked that can make it. Most teams need their #1 guy to make it and nobody has depth. Dumars is probably playing this smart & waiting since he knows the same thing. |

The fact that you would make this trade, plus the fact that you think Magic is so much better than Jordan (that it's not even close) proves that you have no concept of defense, no value for defense and are just looking at stats. You have no concept of what comes within the flow of the game, and how that affects stats. You ignore that you have to play both ends of the floor. Webber was NEVER a good defender one on one, even when healthy. Yes he could block a shot every now and again, but would leave his man to do so. You value flash more than substance. Rasheed has always done the dirty work at the defensive end. I've never been a fan of Sheed's act, but I give credit where it is due. He's a premier player on both ends, and defers to Rip Hamilton to make his team better even though he could probably score 25 a night if he wanted to be a selfish player. He guards players in the post, on the perimeter and does well at both. He even matched up against Shaq for a good part of the Miami series, giving up 100 pounds and getting beat up, for the good of the team. He's the guy who draws Duncan when they play SA, draws Garnett etc. He handles those players and makes them WORK for their shots. Webber on the other hand has whined and bitched his way out of Golden State, failing to honor a verbal deal with the owner in doing so, whined his way out of Washington and alienated a long time friend in Juwan Howard, bitched about Sacramento the town after they treated him like God for all those years and complained his way out of there, and now complains that he doesn't get his shots in Philly. Guess what, it's not the rest of the world at fault, it's CWeb who is at fault. And you would rather have HIM on your team than Rasheed Wallace who was the acquisition who put Detroit over the top in the year it won its most recent championship. Speaks volumes about your knowledge of TEAM sport, TEAM chemistry, Unselfishness, Defense and on and on and on. You should wait ten more years before posting your opinion on hoops. Frank Rizzo |

Absolutely not. That would be one of the worst trade the Pistons could/would ever make. Webber is nowhere near the player he was when he was in Sacramento. They dumped him on Philly knowing full well his injuries were going to take their tole on him. Rasheed has been mostly injury free his entire time in Detroit and putting up good numbers night in night out as well as playing very good defense, something Webber can only dream about. Quote:

Again, go away. You don't know anything about hoops. At least three others in here have verbally supported my point, while none agree with you. Go eat some drano and whatever you do don't procreate. We have enough kids on welfare without you adding to the mix. |
