Default Well done Stuart Pierce.

At last a manager has had the honor to ban a player for cheating or
thuggish behavior. Unlike the red faced drunk at OT or the cunt who
tries to justify his players diving at Stamford Bridge, Stuart Pearce
sets the standard for all clubs this season by banning Thatcher and also
phoning Portsmouth's manager Harry Redknapp to personally apologize.
Lets hope other follow his excellent behavior this year.

Well done Pierce!

Nothing to do with honour, more to do with not bringing the club into
disrepute.

By suspending the player, City have probably protected themselves from
any FA action against the club.

ISTR a certain other manager did that when a player was obviously going
to get totally shafted for his actions.

Depends if you're one of these new namby-pamby company car Alfa drivers
who's only bought it 'cos they're fashionable at the moment or if you've
suffered the pain of owning a real Alfa, not the Fiats with a posh badge
that we get these days ;-)

I'm a petrolhead. But's that's because I keep getting spasms on the garage
forecourt. 50 litres in the tank. 100 over my head. I really need to change
these vibrating shoes.

Nope. It is simply the pressure piled on by the media that "psycho" has
repsonded to.

I'd have praised him if he'd come out and put thew pressure on to the FA,
whose current rules Thatcher hasn't even broached.

Then he should start on FIFA who state that if a referee deals with a
situation, then it cannot be dealt with again.

In other words. Pearce has shit out.

Nope, City have done all they can be expected to. Pointing the finger at
the FA's rules and more importantly, the failings of the match officials
is a job for everyone else involved in football. I haven't heard any
citicism of the referee, his assistants or the fourth official for
failing to spot a red card offence between them. If Stuart Pearce was to
do it he would leave himself open to criticism for trying to deflect
blame from Thatcher.

But he did shit out by reacting to the media and their bleating.

As far as I'm concerned, it is a football matter. It needs to be dealt
with by the footballing authorities, if even it needs dealing with. If
Pearce wishes to bow down to media pressure then so be it. Don't be
fooled though, this is the ONLY reason why Pearce and City have reacted
in the way they have.

Dermot's lost his next match - at least.
