The IAU demotes the KC Royals status as a Major League Team.
In between demoting the status of panets, voiding mnemonic memes,
eating babies, kicking puppies, drowning kittens, and using their large
telescopes to set small villages on fire, the International
Astronomical Union has now demoted the Kansas City Royals from the
status of a "major league baseball team" to a "minor league baseball

It seems rightly so considering the Royals are last place not just in
the AL but in Baseball in general. The Tragic Kingdom has a record of
49-86 and forget about the wildcard!
