Default Any of you surprised/worried about lack of CB cover?

Selling Huth and Gallas seems a little bit strange to me.

Huth was a forward and Gallas a left back wern't they? ;-)

Seriously though,Boulahrouz was bought in as cover, and he also plays LB and
RB.You'd like to think 3 center backs would be enough fo the season(I
remember the days when 2 was enough!)and if thats not enough theres always
SWP as cover.

IME 3 isn't enough. We often had 2 out last season and 3 this. Strangely we
now have 4 international centre backs ourselves.

If one gets a long term injury it does make it nervy. Any youth players
coming through?

The other side of the coin is,if your prefered pairing dont get
injured/suspended then the other 2 become unsettled, like Huth and to an
extent Gallas as he was asked to play left back.

There's a few who have represented England at under17/18/19 level, whether
they're ready to step up i don't know,I guess time will tell..

Huth wasn't good enough, Gallas effectively went on strike, no choice
really.
I'm certain Carvalho is good for giving away at least 6 penalties this year
and
that concerns me more.

Surprised you didn't buy another one really. Effectively you have unlimited
funds so why bother taking any chance at all?

In all honesty I'd rather have Gallas than Carvalho.

Do you think Ashley will be a crowd favourite down there?

Once he's settled in I'm sure he will. He's a better player than
Bridge and once he's shown it I don't see a problem dispite his
tainted past.... Christ we didn't even give Petit stick so he should
have no probs!

I'm not sure we'd be delighted to sign anyone who is only coming for the
money. Though with our finances that's not likely to happen anyway!

Name a player that hasn't gone for the money. This romantic notion that
players
sign for the love of the club in a nonsense. I've probably got more
affection for
Arsenal than he ever has!

Nonsense. Cole was an Arsenal fan as a kid, the only player in our squad who
could say that and ironically he turns out to be the least loyal.

As for players who don't just go for money? Henry and Gallas for two! Not
that I am claiming Gallas has any love for Arsenal, any affection would be
towards his mate Henry and Wenger.
