Default The Rose Award For 9-6-2006.

The Rose Award goes to Jorge Posada of the New York Yankees, who went
two-for-three with six RBI and scored three runs in a 8-3 win over the
Kansas City Royals.

Randy 'Old Man' Johnson took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and
Posada hit a pair of three-run homers. Jason Giambi figured he'd
better start doing something for the team so he broke an 0-for-21
hitless streak with a double to center.

What a fucking whining crybaby. I can't believe he was one of my favorite
baseball players as a kid.

"The Atlanta Braves finally held Rose hitless on August 1, after sixty-six hits
over forty-four games off of pitchers such as the great Steve Carlton, Phil
Niekro, Vida Blue, Jim Kaat, Bob Welch and Tommy John. Rose was greatly upset by
the Braves pitchers and blasted them in the press for not challenging him with
any fastballs."

It's one of those "unwritten rules". You don't try and get hitters
out. It goes right alongside the rule that says you don't try and
win games with bunt singles, but it's OK to use them to extend hitting
streaks.

That's because anyone can throw junk, but not everyone can bunt
properly. Vinnie never could. Vinnie can't even get laid.

Apparently, not everyone can hit junk, even with a big hitting streak
on the line.

Two 3-run homers? That is a very un-Rose-like performance. It would
have been more fitting to give it to someone who got, say, 2 singles in
4 at bats and had a stolen base. And had a couple of grand riding on
the game.

My dog is better looking than any woman who'd be seen near Rosecomm.
And my dog's been dead for years.
