Default Connie Hawkins

Billy Cunningham and Connie Hawkins going into the Hall of Fame
together is really cool.
(Yes I'm old enough to have seen them play....ugh) If any of you
youngsters want a good read, though its probably out of print, pick up
"Foul" by David Wolf; the Connie Hawkins story. It's easily one of my
top five sports biographies ever.

One of the stories is that they would play on some courts in Bedford
Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn and saw the white guy pulling
rebound after rebound thrown up by a short old white guy. Working and
working, and Connie and his friends could not believe how hard the old
guy worked the young white kid.......that white kid was Billy
Cunningham and his father.

It's very cool they are going in together.

There are a good many who will be surprised by this
seasons NY Knicks. I think larry made a mistake and
how many would be surprised if the Knicks make the
playoffs and go to the second round?

early onset A-word.....I posted this based on a photo that the search
"Basketball Hall of Fame" images kicked out, THEN I was driving around
the next day and the radio had a bit about Charles Barkley going
in.....rrrrr.....I should check dates....I'm getting old and funny, but
not funny Ha-ha. Still, the Hawk was great, and that book lauds Paul
Silas as an uber-mentch. Cheers
