I saw several reports the last few weeks that all of the
Timberwolves *except* Blount and Hudson were working out at the Target Center. Anybody see updates on them? Of course, keeping Hudson out of the TC for the season wouldn't bother me at all. But if there was one (marginal) guy who the Wolves need to have working with the team, it would be Blount. |

Why? He's worthless. Unless you give him a personality and heart transplant, he needs to be in some exchange program with the Kamchatka Peninsula basketball program. |

from sid:
Timberwolves point guard Troy Hudson, who has been sidelined by an ankle problem since the middle of last year, showed that he is close to 100 percent as he took part in a scrimmage Monday of signed players and free agents. "Hudson looks as good as I have seen him," said teammate Trenton Hassell. "Watching Hudson shoot the ball, he didn't look any different than he was last year when he was healthy." Hudson has been rehabilitating on his own, and until he recently showed ** levi...sorry to be a balloon popper...the encouraging thing is, Blount is still not mentioned. |

Level headed Levi, you can't seriously be suggesting Mark Blount is a saviour? .. holding it in..........wowwwwwww....letting it out. Blount is remarkable in only one respect, he's probably the only player that would make one pine nfor Khandi. |

No, of course Mr. Blount is no savior. But without any legitimate center at all, the Wolves have no chance. I suppose we could debate whether MarkB is "legitimate" or not, but we should recall that Eddie Griffin believes in his heart of hearts that he is a PF and is too weak (both physically and mentally) to compete in the post anyways. Sure, I love Mark Madsen's effort and attitude, but he is no Ben Wallace when it comes to skills and um, simple hand-eye coordination. So, howzbout that Loukas? Bleh. What I'm saying is that the Wolves need everything they can get out of Blount, but he seems to be unwilling to sign up for the job - just the paycheck. Speaking of Olowokandi, it looks like Phoenix is next in line to donate to the "I'm not done yet, may I have another Tazer please?" fund for wayward Sasquatch. |

IF, Randy Foye is the next Wade, we could move up the ranks with a 3 headed monster at Center, Madsen, Griffin, Blount, or FOUR if the Wolves sign John Thomas. The other major IF, is if Casey can convince Blount and Griffin that their sole mission is to hit the boards, and defend, and forget about scoring. Shock Collars for both, and a remote control in Casey's pocket, or an assistant coach whose sole job is to shock EG and Blount if they shoot their favorite jumpers. It doesn't seem there is much to be optimistic about, but I am very curious to see Foye and his quick moves to the rim, that were oft mentioned from Las Vegas. Reusse wrote earlier that he thought Casey was being set up as Bill Blair, because of the presense of Randy Wittman to replace him, if the team doesn't get off to a respectable beginning. As far as Khandi and Phoenix....if anyone could reserect this stiff it would be Mike D'Antoni, but why would he want to? I see from the Phoenix site - Kandi paid his own way for a tryout. How pathetic is that, but in the article there is a rather glaring factual error. They give credit to the Minneapolis Police of using a stun gun, it was the Indianapolis cops at 3 am when Kandi insisted on getting his sweater from a club that had 86'd the lovable lughead. So much for tough love.... |

That's a really big "IF" ya got there, Andy. The 2nd coming of Wade (who was the 2nd coming of Kobe, yada, yada)? Chances are slim. I'll be happy for (and with) Mr. Foye if he simply doesn't suck too much. Quote:
Unfortunately, that method has been proven ineffective on Sasquatch. Quote:
And I think I might move to San Antonio. Quote:

Size matters. (the official motto of Morehead State. Really.) Phoenix needs size. That Kandi is a sucking chest wound to a team, well, any team foolish enough to take him now deserves what they get. Quote:
Pathetic. But look at the upside for Kandi. If he makes the team, he can live the NBA lifestyle: get drunk for free, get laid like WIlt, and be paid a few millon to boot. Heck, if Phoenix has everyone healthy and they have a great year, he might even get some free jewelry that will assure him of free drinks whenever he wears it. Quote:
Yep, the sweatshirt he was wearing at the time. |
