They also acquired Orlando's pick this year, only top 5 protected. I don't think Orlando's going to be bad enough to get one of the top 5, but they'll probably be bad enough to get #6 through #12. No one fucks over Joe Dumars (though he'd say it more polite language...) |

I'd rather have Milicic than Orlando's pick. I don't think Orlando is going to be #6-10 this year. Maybe 12 is realistic. Thats not to say that anyone fucked Joe D, but I thought they moved Darko so that they could have enough cap space to re-sign Big Ben. At least that was the story when it went down. Rizzo |

Why do you want a 7 foot guy who is soft on defense and only marginal on offense? Especially playing in the division the Pistons play in? I think the pick will add more to the Pistons than anything Milicic could ever add to the team. Regards, |

Hi Skip, I guess I just don't think we know what Darko can be yet because he hasn't played enough, he's only 21. He reminds me of a young Rik SMits... |

Darko was pretty impressive the last 15-20 games of the season for
Magic.. Blocked a lotta shots and boarded well per minute. very soft on D & doesn't have consistent moves, but can score & seems to be improving rapidly.IOW-not a total big stiff. |

Being a fan of the Pacers as well, I seem to remember Smits being a lot better on defense at a young age than Darko is but Darko does seem to be more athletic. Darko may turn out to be a good one, but so far I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe he'll be much more than a bench player. Regards, |

Rik entered the league at age 22.....So how can you remember him being a better player at a younger age than Darko who is just now 21. You have to allow big men to develop. And you guys may be right, he may suck. He may be good too. NONE of us know yet, and we won't know until he plays meaningful minutes for a season to see if he has anything to build on. He had a good 15-20 games once he was traded to a team that didn't have Ben Wallace in front of him. Interestingly Ben Wallace once had someone in front of him and nobody knew what he was capable of until he was traded to Detroit. You can't know until the guy plays. One more thing, remember Detlef Schrempf, he was buried in Dallas then ended up being a real player when he went to some team in the midwest that you're familiar with... Rizzo |

Who cares about Ben Wallace? He betrays his own team for a suckier team. Its not like hes gonna become some big legend while playing for Chicago........ |
