Default Kiss it off

I doubt that a miracle will save them. This team has floundered so bad in
the last half-season that it makes me think that somebody in the top brass
of MLB management manipulates these teams so that attendance is solely the
game's objective.
As Hawk said, these guys are "underacheivers". He certainly knows how to
make his comments short and sour as well as swift and sweet. Had Williams
sought Abreu to replace Anderson insetad of dumping Widger for Alomar (???),
there would have been no question as to whether there would be another
post-season. Does anyone wish to attempt to explain such a bum load of
baseball for a team that should never have fallen behind anyone for a wild
card?
I can start with the frigging Marrioti and his newly liberalized Sun-Times
BS. The clown is an ignorant, self aggrandizing "sportswriter" tripping on
his way off to ESPN. Gladly (if I lived in Chicago) I would hope for a
boycott of their newspaper. Personally, I had always favored the Sun-Times
throughout my life (as the underdog of Chicagoland newspapers), but since
(whatever has changed them), they've gone astray from reasonable political
and sports commentaries, I can find how this season was "spoiled". Who wants
to play for a newspaper (city) that characterizes their champions as run by
a dedicated and newly expected PC manager - when the game is all that really
ever mattered?

I'd love to see stats on the White Sox's record with Alomar catching. He
can't call good pitches in my opinion, and my unofficial tally is they
play way worse with him than Pierzynski.

Since Alomar joined the team on July 24th, the White Sox are 5-7 in
games in wgich Alomar has made three or more plate appearances (and
split the two games in which he had exactly one plate appearance).

Over that same period, the White Sox are 21-22 when Alomar has not
made any plate appearance.

That could prove to be an example of team chemistry going flat altogether.
He doesn't necessarily have to play to effect a once winning attitude. Maybe
Widger wasn't a strong player defensively and offensively, but I highly
suspect his loss was a mistake on the part of the upper management.

The White Sox had lost seven of nine games after the All Star break
before Alomar joined the team

I think that has really come back to haunt them. If they could've won 5
or 6 of those 9, they'd still have a shot.

It wasn't long after he joined the team that he became out spoken.
He never earned (whatsoever currently or at anytime during his career) any
position as a spokesman for the team.

Look, it might seem that I'm picking on one player. It's more than that, and
primarily I believe that (underlying), Mariotti had a powerfully negative
influence on this whole season. It was a betrayal to us fans from a member
of the Chicago media and represented by the Sun-Times. Since Mariotti went
national on ESPN (pretending to be impartial), it shows that he's all for
Mariotti - and not for those that helped him attain some degree of respect.
Basically, he successfully screwed over Ozzie (and the fans) for his own
self-acclaim. Lastly, they should have done away with Anderson - as much as
I wanted to like him. But after reading several statements from him, it
seems that he thinks that he's "above it all". His contributions to the team
were painfully weak- and everyone knew it.
Sure, the season isn't over. But there's nothing about their play that
exhibits any miraculous tendencies.

' didn't live in the city in '03. Terrible shame - the kid was simply doing
what I probably would have done.
Last I had known about the Sun-Times was that they were favorabe towards the
Sox (years long before).
