Garner starts Ensberg and Lane who didn't fare to well against LHP
Randy Wolf a couple weeks ago. Biggio had a great series but he is sitting and Burke is playing 2nd base. Taveras is in CF. Huff is not playing although he hit a HR off Wolf last time. I don't like the drastic lineup change when the Astros played so well last week against the Cardinals. David |

Seriously, how much is there to like from any lineup the Stros put out there? Of course, when the Phils walk 8 Stros in 7 innings, any lineup would look good. |

The reality is you have to rest guys some time. Yeah, they're pro athletes but they've been playing 7 straight days of baseball in three different cities. I know I didn't get home until 1 AM from the game Sunday night. Imagine traveling to Philly. In the end it doesn't matter because they won! It was great to see them play Sunday. That was the closest I've been to a play off caliber game. BTW Lane was a key to winning this one |

So this is the daily "what David doesn't like" post? How about the win? Did you like that? Ensberg may be the absolute best candidate for the #2 spot on the entire team. His last three starts, all in that spot, have produced a ..615 OBP (5/10 with 3 BBs). Over his last 10 games, he's 9-26 (.346) with 8 walks (.654 OBP). Yes, Biggio has hit well lately, but he was due a day off. Not sure about Everett, but I thought he tweaked something running out a grounder Sunday night. Maybe it had tightened up on him. I really don't know. ML |
