Just finished seeing SEA score 3 off Street in the bottom of the 9th to
send it to extra innings at 9-9, and then SEA won it in the bottom of the 10th. Very unlikely ending, considering the A's had beaten SEA something like 15 straight. Maybe this just postpones the inevitable, or maybe the A's really are choking a bit. The odds seem absurdly stacked against the Angels winning the division, but it truly would be good for baseball if the Angels and SEA win their next two. The A's telecast kept cutting away to show the Angels scoring. That pitch Vlad homered to deep left-center on - in the 7th? - was right in on the hands. How Vlad homers on that pitch is a mystery to me. To those of you who were at Angels Stadium tonight: it must've RAWKED! -rmjon23 "That's baseball, and it's my game. Y' know, you take your worries to the game, and you leave 'em there. You yell like crazy for your guys. It's good for your lungs, gives you a lift, and nobody calls the cops. Pretty girls, lots of 'em." -Humphrey Bogart |

I didn't know that Seattle pulled it out! I think the only way the Angels still pull this out is for the 2 hotheads, Payton and Bradley, to have a total meltdown in the locker room and poison it for the rest of the season. BZB -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
