Having said that, the idea that the Tigers are only in the post-season
because they got to beat up on weaker opposition is weak. Compare the East
and the Central. The Yankees had a better record than the Twins (by one
game), but after that, if you go position by position, the Central was
better (4th in the Central was better than 4th in the East, etc.). By your
logic, the Jays should have been able to make the playoffs because they got
to beat up on the Orioles and Rays.

I'm certainly no Tigers fan and I don't see them getting past the Yankees,
but they're full value for their spot in the playoffs.
