Default Sorry for the intrusion, but I have to hand my hat to Zito ...

He pitched a game today I never thought he was capable of doing again
for the A's. He pitched like an ace today.

His best effort of the year, period, considering the context and
circumstance of the situation.

absolutely, outpitched the best pitcher in the league.
and how about thomas? (3-4 with 2 bombs & nearly a 3rd) - he sure looked
like he deserves more AL MVP votes than morneau (0-3). granted it's only one
game (and isn't even over yet), but a team's best hitter has to do it every
game in a short series.

Yeah, I was impressed with his calm. I was going to say "control" too,
but it seemed like he had some issues with that. (Check out the
ball/strike ratio.) The curve and change were good, though. Mixed up
the pitches nicely. Hats off to him, and of course to Frank, too. Love
having Frank in the lineup....

He certainly didn't have his best stuff, and the Twins helped him out
by swinging at a lot of balls. But he won the game, getting the outs
when he needed to. That's guts and guile, which he has shown too little
of since 2002.

With a little good fortune, the A's won't need Zito to pitch again in
this series.

Thomas was the steal of the century! And Zito did step up for the playoffs.
He obviously wants to get to the next round.

Since you came out of your hole, will we have 6 more weeks of stupid postings?

You should be complaining about how Zito blew a no-hitter. You are
losing your edge.

He's trying for a "kinder gentler" approach, but to paraphrase Neil
Young, he's still the same old "kinder gentler machine gun hand".

Not trying for anything; I don't have anything to prove here. I know
where my hat lies.

I just was giving credit where it was due, that's all. Straight-forward
honesty, same as always.
