Default Does a white man have a chance to be the next manager?

It was obvious the only reason Baker and Alou were hired were to keep
the black players ( specifically Bonds) happy.

Will they prostitute to the P.C. police a third time, or really truly
try to find the best candidate regardless of race?

Bill "the rapist" Clinton might be the only acceptable "white" choice
since he was called "America's first black president"

Yeah, ok, it's a slow Wednesday morning... I'll bite.

1) *IF* there was any politically correct pandering done, I think it
would have had more to do with pleasing MLB and the local fans, and not
so much the players. Not even Bonds.

2) Baker, if you'll recall, was a legitimate first-time candidate in
his own right, and did go on to a reasonably good managerial cereer.
Alou was an experienced and proven major league manager. It's not like
these two guys were dog meat.

Anything else, or do you have some more useless dipshit hyperbole to
entertain us?

I've already nominated kevin mitchell to keep bonds in line.

as for white dude, how about:
a) kuik and kuip (to keep the fans in line)
b) will clark (to keep bonds in line)
c) jeff kent (to keep bonds in line)
d) wendell kim (because the giants can't afford any of the star asian
players)

If you listen to KNBR, especially Gary Radnich, the apparent thinking is
that the Giants need to hire a "big" name, but one with ties to the Giants.
That was the reasoning behind Alou, and to a lesser extent Baker (beside the
fact he was a minority and a first timer, with the new management).

That being said, Brenlys name is thrown into any managerial mix, but so is
Piniella, Fregosi, and now even Girardi. But (hopefully) the apparent
thinking is to give some bench coach his first chance, and not go with a
retread. I don't think race, creed, or even religion will make up the choice
of next manager for the Giants.

I think Girardi might actually be a good fit.

Except that Peter Magowan isn't the type of guy who would particularly
care to be told that he's an idiot.

1) girardi can't handle bonds or the other high price free agents the
giants are going to sign.
2) magowan is an ivy league kind of guy and he aint gonna hire an old
catcher with minimal experience to steer his boat.
