Default Mets-Dodgers - WTF happened?

Following the play by play on Yahoo and at MLB.com, and both list a play
where on a single both Drew and Kent were thrown out at home. I assume
this is a mistake in the transcription, can anyone tell me what actually
happened?

Colin

Everyone on the Mets group is in WTF mode also, but there is one post
wondering what the 3rd base coach was thinking. I'm assuming it will be
on SportsCenter tonight.

Was anyone watching who cou,d recap exactly what happened? Were two players
really thrown out at home on one single?

Colin

Drew was trying to follow Kent home and was running right behind him, as
Kent has Sid Bream speed. Kent was tagged out, Drew was too close to go
back to third, Maine yelled to LoDuca and LoDuca made the second tag.

I just looked at the video on the MLB web site. It was just the
play-by-play, with one or two quick replays. But there was no
exploration of *why* Kent was trying to score.

they seemed to treat the whole incident in a happy-go-lucky manner with a
casual remark about the 3rd base coach...

That's because everyone knows that the playoffs are fixed. Yankees vs
Mets in the series, Oakland collapses as usual because they are a small
money team and the Cards coast in to lose to the mets because they
represent the heartland of this great country.
