Hey folks: A Twins fan here, looking to next year (not that I have
given up on 2006 yet, but . . .).

You know, you look at this division next year, and it looks like it
only gets better. Man, what a free-for-all it could be in September.
I know this is all impossible to predict acurately, but I think it is
going to be a very exciting year in the AL Central, and I can't even
come up with a plausible reason for picking one of he top three over
the others.

Any early predictions?

Brian Jones

I predict the Royals will play spoiler in September for somebody.

Outside of that, I'll wait and see what offseason deals are made by the big
2 (Sox and Twins), and the other 2 (Indians and Tigers). And I kid about
the Royals; they have a foundation, and now they have management in place
that could drive them upward.

I'd say that the Tigers are living a WC's dream. They'll get to the pennant,
but fall against Oakland.
This year they were smart about getting out of the gate fairly fast.
The Indians will once again prove to be more competitive.
K.C. will also be more competitive which will weaken the leaders and keep
the division from seeing another runaway.
The Twins should have some more of that decent pitching (and some that will
end up being marinated) along with Justin, Torii (and at C), they'll have
their say..
The White Sox (I hope) will have learned about complacency - if they keep
themselves intact.
I hope that this division will once again have the WC. Which can instill
greater rivalries and better divisional competition, along with the sense
that the central is premiere.
If that happens, I think the top two will end up being any of the four -
other than K.C. (unless they can get Limbaugh back)!
Boston has no "order" (uniformity- dress code) because it's the same old
self-centered individuals that perform as if they were the Kennedys. Toronto
might vastly improve - the same with Baltimore. That makes Steinbrenner
curse his minor league system. The Yanks are an "old" team with plenty of
players that are ready to retire. Forget about Tampa Bay. The best they can
do is beat up on their divisions elite.
And in the west, it'll be "the same old song and dance", but without a WC.
Any team is capable of a post-season, except maybe the Pilots, oops - I
meant the Mariners. I suspect the A's to once again have dominance.

But that's my opinion, if you don't mind my sharing......
