I saw from Pat Bender's newsletter that we signed him.

Interesting. Moving or cutting a G/F?

don't know the details but i imagine it's not guaranteed since we
already have 15 players w/guaanteed money.

He is just in for a look. He won't stay. I don't expect any surprises
barring a trade. The 15 we have in camp with guaranteed contracts will be
the 15 that stay even if someone plays spectacularly. I strongly suspect you
will see the same team as last year -Murray -Marty -Henderson +Pollard
+Wesley.

From everything I have read, the players we signed last year Hughes,
Marshall and Jones) all felt they had bad years and did not help the team as
much as they could. Hughes finger still is not 100% (no full range of
motion) and word is that it will not fully heal until March. Marshall has
spent time with a personal trainer and working on his inside game. Jones
reported in the best shape of his career. These guys realize how close they
came and are really focused. The coach and players are pretty familiar with
each other though Brown is planning on using Hughes differently and Wesley
is expected to be used to fill a role offensively and defensively that we
did not have last year. Same with Pollard. S. Brown will be utilized
according to what he can do. Gibson I believe will see little playing time.

Barring injuries, I think this team can add at least 5 wins or more to what
they did last year despite being in the toughest division in basketball.

Keith

there are a lot of expectations on this team. personally i'd be happy
if they repeated 50 wins. but i also i think that the potential is
there for them to kick some major tail, but it's dependent as much on
the coaching staff as the players. brown is a defensive minded coach,
which is good, but as i mentioned before, the NBA as a whole is
evolving to where offensive minded teams will have the advantage.
brian windhorst discusses this here:

http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/sports...rs/15709113.htm

this is why i think the bulls kinda crippled themselvesfor years to
come when they signed ben wallace to that long term contract.

but i think the cavs have players who can play a wide open game in
players such as hughes, james, brown, gooden & varajao. it remains to
be seen if coach brown will be astute enough to take advantage of that
on the offensive end. then again, if you play suffrocating defense,
and can rebound you should get plenty of fast break opportunities off
missed shots.

it occurs to me that the team that included price, daugherty, harper,
etc. would be a perfect team for this era.
