Luis (Gonzo) Gonzalez is doing Color on ESPN radio, and he
was adamant that the sight of Geoff Blum in the on-deck cir- cle influenced Suppan to throw Branyan something over the plate in the 4th inning. Gonzo repeated that Blum, 9 for 16 lifetime against Suppan, played a key part in the inning. Blum, dissed in this space as " Judy Blum" by Iceberg, then delivered Branyan with a clutch Sacrifice Fly. By the way, Gonzo is great on radio. When the Colonel isn't doing play-by-play, switch over to am-800 and check out Gonzo. Hoover |

Normally, I wouldn't be real excited by a sac fly, but with our 2-3-4 hitters showing a complete inability to hit one, Blum's seemed like a grand slam. |
